A little visit to the Big Apple

Being a resident of Philly means I can jump on an (overly priced) Amtrak train and be in the heart of Manhattan in an hour and a half. While I enjoy the walks at home, New York has me totally beat by end of day. I totaled about 26,000 steps which for me is certainly up on the higher scale. The city blocks are not a joke!

I met up with some family to explore and to see what new offerings the city has. We went up on a Sunday, and that’s generally a terrible time to experience a busy city because weekends are prime for tourist traffic. We visited the Chelsea Market for tacos at the Los Tacos. I had chicken and it was by far one of the best taco experiences I’ve ever had. I’d go to New York just for round 2.

We popped over to check out the Chelsea Highline which was lovely because Philly os building our own one called the Rail Park. It's very exciting to see your city thrive and expand.  After that, we jumped over to Brooklyn's Dumbo district for photos and ice cream, and finished off at Nolita at the cozy Australian Ruby's Cafe. It was a fantastic ending to a fantastic day.
